Will satellite internet work in heavy rain?
Heavy rain can weaken the radio link and cause interruptions. Weather at a remote gateway can also matter. Protect the installation and power system, and keep a fallback for essential communications.
Can I install the equipment myself?
Some Starlink kits support user setup following their model-specific instructions. nbn Sky Muster installation is professionally arranged. Permanent roof, electrical and regulated communications-cabling work needs the appropriate qualified installer.
Is uncapped data the same as unlimited speed?
No. Sky Muster Plus Premium provides uncapped usage with fair use and shaping conditions. Other plans may use allowances or priority rules. Always read the exact product’s current Australian terms.
Can I take my home connection in a caravan?
Do not assume a fixed-home plan permits travel. Choose an eligible travelling product and verify hardware, mounting and in-motion permissions. A fixed nbn Sky Muster installation is not a portable caravan service.
Does satellite messaging replace an emergency beacon?
No. Ordinary satellite messaging, handset SOS and dedicated emergency devices have different purposes and limitations. Telstra’s non-emergency satellite messaging cannot call or directly text Triple Zero. Plan suitable independent emergency communications.
